Brigadier K A W S Ratnayake ndu assumed duties as 27th Commander of FMA (E) on 29th April 2022 morning after a brief military and religious ceremony.
Later on a religious ceremony conducted by members of the Maha Sangha at his office invoked blessings on the new appointment. A special Pirith chanting session blessed the new Commander as he symbolically initialed an official document to signify acceptance of the new appointment.
Towards the end of the ceremony, the new Commander addressed all officers and other ranks.
