THE NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDER OF THE 222 INFANTRY BRIGADE ASSUMES DUTIES

Colonel WPK Senarath RWP RSP USP IG, assumed duties as the 24th Commander of 222 Infantry Brigade on 26 December 2025 at the Brigade Headquarters, amid military formalities including a Guard Turnout upon his arrival at the premises.

The newly appointed Brigade Commander placed his signature for a formal document to signify the acceptance of the office. Religious blessings and planting of a sapling was taken place to mark the occasion. Commanding Officers, Staff Officers and Other Ranks attended the ceremony.

After, he addressed the troops by sharing his vision and emphasizing the importance of effective use of Manpower, resources and environment. Later he shared refreshments with all ranks. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the 222 Infantry Brigade extended their best wishes to the newly appointed Officiating Brigade Commander on the assumption of his new appointment.
