Troops of the 12 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) under the 23 Infantry Division of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) vested a new house in a needy family in Iralakkulam, Periyawadduwan area.
The newly-built house was warmed in a simple ceremony with Hindu traditions on Thursday (07) to coincide with the Army Day. Commander Security Force – East, Major General Channa Weerasuriya cut a ribbon and handed over the keys to the family.
The construction of the new house was completed with the assistance of 12 SLNG troops under the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division, Major General Nalin Koswatta and Commander 231 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Dulipa Bandara.
