NEW GYMNASIUM OPENED IN SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (EAST)

With the view to enhance the physical fitness efficiency of the soldiers of the Security Force Headquarters (East), a new gymnasium has been constructed at the Security Force Headquarters (East) with the guidance of Commander Security Force (East), Major General Santhusitha Pananwala. Further, as a gesture of goodwill, SFHQ (East) is also intended to facilitate the young school children of the area who have excelled in sports and reached national and international levels in weight lifting.

In collaboration with the 15th Anniversary of the Security Force Headquarters (East), the new gymnasium equipped with modern facilities was opened on the Anniversary Day, fulfilling a much-needed requirement of the soldiers. The new Gymnasium complex was built with the tireless efforts of the soldiers of Engineer Service Regiment and with financial provisions of the Commander of the Army.

On the invitation of the Commander Security Forces (East), Garrison Engineer (Welikanda) Capt Nimesh Janasinghe ESR who was in charge of this construction, cut the symbolic ribbon to open the new gymnasium in the company of Senior Officers, Officers & Other Ranks of the Security Force Headquarters (East).
