The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of the 22 Infantry Division Major General MKS Silva RWP RSP ndu made his maiden official visits to 221 & 222 Brigades and under command Battalions on 27 and 29 January 2021.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) was warmly welcomed by respective Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers of 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 5 (V) Sri Lanka Artillery, 2 (V) Gajaba Regiment and 17 Sri Lanka National Guard on his arrival. Thereafter, all other formal activities were observed at each formation with presentations of relevant role and tasks. Finally, the GOC visited the Company locations and detachments during his visit.
