On 7th July 2023, Brigadier KVNP Premaratne RSP USP psc assumed the duties as the 26th General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division at Divisional Headquarters in Punani. Following military customs, Brigadier KVNP Premaratne RSP USP psc conducted a review of the Guard Turn Out and Parade upon arrival, receiving a warm welcome from the 23 Infantry Division staff.
The newly appointed General Officer Commanding officially accepted the duties by signing a formal document while receiving blessings from the Noble Triple Gem. Furthermore, a symbolic sapling was planted as part of a ceremonial event to honor and remember this significant milestone. He addresses the troops' under command, explaining a positive approach for assigning duties of Security Forces while facing challenges ahead.
Brigade Commanders, Divisional Staff Officers, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks were present at the ceremony.
