MORE ARMY PERSONNEL QUALIFY IN BSW AND ANTI-TANK GUIDED MISSILE COURSES

The Passing out Parade of the Battalion Support Weapon (BSW) Officers’ Course No.74, BSW SNCOs Course No. 83 and Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) Course No. 50 took place on Friday (27) at Infantry Training Centre (ITC) Minneriya.

37 Officers and 34 Senior Non Commissioned Officers who successfully followed BSW Course and 10 x 42 Other Rankers who qualified in the Anti-Tank Guided Missile Course , after their training for three months, pinned the insignia during a colourful ceremony, headed by Major General Santhusitha Pananwala, Commander, Security Forces - East as the Chief Guest.

The day’s Chief Guest, Major General Santhusitha Pananwala on arrival was greeted by a Guard Turnout at the entrance before he took the salute of a ceremonial parade, held in his honour at the premises.

He was warmly welcomed by Major General Suraj Bansajaya, Commandant, ITC-Minneriya who afterwards conducted him to the dais to receive the salute.

All course attendees of the Battalion Support Weapon (BSW) Course and Anti- Tank Missile Course took part in the ceremonial parade. A band display and weapon demonstration added glamour for the event.

Officers, Other Ranks and relatives of course attendees were present at the ceremony.
