Major General A C Lamahewa WWV RWP RSP assumed duties as the 8th General Officer Commanding of 24 Infantry Division on 08 February 2021 amidst traditional military formalities being accomplished at the Headquarters premises Malwaththa, Ampara.
The day’s proceedings commenced with the incoming GOC being accorded a Guard Turnout on his arrival at the premises and reviewed the Guard of Honour, accorded in his honour by the troops of 11 Sri Lanka National Guard.
Later on, Major General Chaminda Lamahewa planted a sapling at the headquarters premises before the formal acceptance of the office on his new appointment at the auspicious minute.
Commanders of 241 and 242 Infantry Brigades, Staff of the Division and Commanding Officers of under command Battalions of 24 Infantry Division attended the event.
