MAJ GEN DDUK HETTIARACHCHI RSP USP ndu psc TAKES OVER THE COMMAND OF THE SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARERS (EAST)
Major General DDUK Hettiarachchi RSP USP ndu psc assumed duties on 01 November 2016 as the 14th Commander of the Security Forces (East) in keeping with the traditions in the Army at the Headquarters at Welikanda.The day’s proceedings scheduled in connection with the commencement of the Office as the Commander began on his arrival to the venue. After reviewing the Guard Turnout, the incoming Commander was awarded with the Guard of Honour by the 7 Field Engineers Regiment.Invoking the blessings of the Maha Sangha, religious rites and rituals were accomplished in the Office of the Commander. Amidst of chanting Seth Pirith by the Maha Sanga, Maj Gen DDUK Hettiarachchi RSP USP ndu psc, placed his signature on an official document, symbolizing the formal acceptance of the Office on his new appointment at the auspicious time.GOCs’ of 22, 24 Divs and Comd FMA (E) and a large number of Senior Officers including the Bde Comds, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks attended the occasion to congratulate on his new appointment. Afterwards, the Commander planted a sapling of a Mango tree to signify his inauguration of the Office of Security Force (East).
