MAJ GEN CHINTHAKA GAMAGE TAKES OVER THE COMMAND OF THE SECURITY FORCE - EAST

Major General J C Gamage ndc psc assumed office as the 20th Commander of the Security Force (East) amidst traditional military formalities being accomplished at the Headquarters premises, Welikanda on 08th August 2020.

On his arrival at the Security Force Headquarters (East) premises, a Guard Turnout presented by 7 Field Engineer Regiment troops greeted the new Commander. The Brigadier Admin & Quartering SFHQ(E) Brigadier Priyantha Weerasinghe received him warmly at the entrance. Brigadier General Staff SFHQ(E) Brigadier Manoj Lamahewa invited the incoming Commander to review the Guard of Honour, accorded in his honour by the troops of Sri Lanka Corps of Engineers.

The newly-appointed Commander symbolically signed an official document to signify the acceptance of the new appointment amid religious observances. Afterwards the Commander planted a “Mango” sapling at the Headquarter premises, and at the end of the ceremony, the new Commander addressed all officers who attended the occasion.

Prior to being appointed as the Commander Security Force (East), Major General J C Gamage ndc psc served as the General Officer Commanding 24 Division.
