MAIDEN VISIT OF GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 23 INFANTRY DIVISION TO THE 231 INFANTRY BRIGADE AND 7TH LIGHT REGIMENT OF SRI LANKA ARTILLERY

The General Officer Commanding of the 23 Infantry Division, Maj Gen WP Kariyawasam, commenced his inaugural visit to the 231 Inf Bde and 7th Light Regiment of the Sri Lanka Artillery on 17 May 2024.

Comd 231 InfBde and Commanding Officer 7 SLA extended a warm welcome to the GOC upon his arrival, creating a positive and inviting atmosphere. Comd 231 Inf Bde and Commanding Officer 7 SLA delivered a comprehensive briefing, about 231 Inf Bde and 7 SLA on the responsibilities, tasks, and the challenges they faced in the present circumstances.

As a continuation to the visit to 231 Inf Bde , the General Officer Commanding made a visit to the 71 Battery HQ Nikapitiya under command to 7SLA. To mark the significance of the visit in 231 Inf Bde and 7 SLA a special commemorative moment took place with the planting

of a saplings of aNa tree (Mesuaferrea) and amango tree (MangiferaIndica) and the signing of visitors book by the GOC.

The session started with a visiting to the 71 battery headquarters in Nikapitiya, Continuing the visit in 231 Inf Bde, 7 SLA and discussions took place, emphasizing the need for seamless coordination to enhance 231 Inf Bde, regiment's operational effectiveness. During the visit, the GOC was accompanied by Brig AADP Kulathilaka USP ndc psc the Commander of the 231 Infantry Brigade.
