With the intention of contribution to create brighter future for students within the scope of Sri Lanka Army, a lecture on imprisonment named as "Noya Yuthu Thena" was organized and conducted for 600 students of Kanthale Central Collage , Agrabaodhi National School and Ganthalawa Maha Vidyalaya on 5 July 2023 from 0830 hours to 1145 hours by Senior Superintendent of Prison Mr. Jagath Chandana Weerasinghe, and Assistant Superintendent of Prison (Rehabilitation) Mr. Jayantha Saman Adasuriya, at Kantale Town Hall in order to prevent young generation from illegal activities. During the lecture guest lecture deliberately explained the crucial and harsh life undergo by the inmates during their imprisonment.
The lecture was organized under the guidance of Eastern Commander, Major General Darshana Wijesekera, supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Major General Mihidu Perera, leadership of the Brigade Commander, 222 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Saliya Dias and arranged by the Commanding Officer of 5th Volunteer Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, Lieutenant Colonel Priyantha Wekadapola.
The same lecture was conducted for the troops of 22 Infantry Division and under command brigades on 05 July 2023 from 1430 hour to 1700 hours by the lecturers, at Kantale Town Hall in order to prevent Army personnel involving with illegal activities. 20 Officers and 350 Other Ranks of 22 Infantry Division and under command establishment were participated for the evening lecture.
The General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division was graced occasion as the chief guest and Commander, 222 Infantry Brigade, Senior Superintendent of Police - Kantale, Civil Affairs Officer of 22 Infantry Division and 222 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of 5th Volunteer Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, Officers, Government Officials, Principals, Teachers and several others who assisted to organized the lecture and they were also participated as invitees.
