According to the concept and financial coordination of the General Officer Commanding, the 22 Infantry Division commenced building a new house for Mr Ranjith Piyarathna a low-income family in Bakmeegama village at Gomarankadawala Divisional Secretariat. The construction work will be done under the supervision of Commander 223 Infantry Brigade and all labor contribution will be provided by 6th Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (Rft). Accordingly, the foundation stone laying ceremony was held on 22 May 2024 with the participation of General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division as the Chief Guest and the presence of Commander 223 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer 6th Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (Rft), Senior officers, Assistant Divisional Secretary Gomrankadawala, Secretary Urban Council Gomarankadawala, Grama Niladhari Bakmeegama. Further, all officers and other ranks of the 6th Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (Rft)also participated in this auspicious event.
Sponsorship generously provided by Mr. Druvie Perera, and the anticipated completion of the house is within a commendable time frame of three months.
