Concurrences with the international tourism day, Coast Conservation and Coastal Resources Management Department and Chamber of Tourism and Industry have organized a series of tourism development programmes at Arugambay on Thursday (29) with collaboration of Army, Navy, Air Force and Police.
Accordingly, the programmes were held as a Tree planting programme along the Pottuvil lagoon, Beach clean-up programme along the coast Arugambay,Awareness programme at “Rupas Beach” Hotel Arugambay with several cultural events.
Furthermore, representing the Army 242 Infantry Bridged Hedqurtes has assisted to the event with the guidance of Commander 24 Infantry Division Maj Gen Saliya Amunugama. Commander 242 Infantry Bridged Col Anurudda Solangaarachchi and Civil Affairs Officer of 242 Infantry Bridged Lt Col Prashann de Silva with troops were present to the event.
