The inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed warrant officers’ and sergeants’ Mess in the 24 Infantry Division, which was organized according to the directions of Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc was held on 08 September 2023 at the Division Headquarters.
Division Sergeant Major and all SNCOs of 24 Infantry Division warmly welcomed the General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division in front of the newly constructed WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess and invited him to symbolize its inauguration by unveiling the special plaque and cutting a ribbon. Later, the General Officer Commanding, together with senior officers and officers present, closely inspected the entire newly constructed WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess.
The dream of having a new WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess was accomplished due to the collective efforts of former General Officer Commanders and present General Officer Commanding Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc.
As the final segment of the ceremony, the General Officer Commanding planted a sapling in front of the newly constructed WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess and added memories before he sat for a group photograph and a tea party.
The newly constructed WOs’ &Sgts’ Mess symbolizes unity and offers a welcoming atmosphere for WOs and Sgts to relax and continue traditions. The recently constructed WOs’ & Sgts’ Mess offers modern amenities to improve the quality of life for our dedicated servicemen and women. The Mess features a spacious dining hall where WOs’ and Sgts’ can enjoy nutritious meals together, fostering bonds and camaraderie over shared experiences.
