HUMANITARIAN DRY RATION DISTRIBUTION CONDUCTED FOR FLOOD AFFECTED CIVILIANS IN LANKAPURA

A dry ration distribution program for civilians affected by the recent emergency situation and flooding was conducted on 09 December 2025 at Jayabima Temple, Galketidamana, in the Lankapura Division.

This humanitarian initiative was organised under the direction of the Commander, Security Forces (East), Major General P K W M J S B W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndupsc and coordinated by the General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division, Major General G P PKulathilakandc. The program was further supported by the Commander, 233 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier S J M N A S Perera USP and conducted under the supervision of the Commanding Officerof 9 battalion Sri Lanka Artillery Major D L C A K Lekamge IG together with officers and other ranks.

In support of the successful execution of this humanitarian effort, SahanaYathra Sri Vijayasundararamaya, Kesbewa generously provided essential material contributions, enabling the timely distribution of dry ration bags to the affected families.
