Troops of 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) cultivated an area of 1.5 Acres of Paddy on month of April 2022 at the general area Mailawewa in order to succeed the Green Agriculture concept which was commenced in Sri Lanka.
The programme was conducted as per the direction given by the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General GRRP Jayawardena RWP RSP ndu and instructions given by the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Major General W B W M R S P Aluvihare RWP RSP and the Brigade Commander of 223 Infantry Brigade.
After completing 3 months, the harvesting ceremony was conducted at Mailawewa with a celebration ceremony. A total of 1750 Kg of paddy was picked from this cultivation. The Commander 223 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Civil Affair Officer of 223 Infantry Brigade and Officers and Other Ranks of 6 SLAC were participated in the harvesting ceremony.
