With the instructions of Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC, 24 Division Ampara organized a musical extravaganza on 29 June 2019 at H M Weerasinghe playground Ampara under the guidance of Commander Security Force (East) Major General Aruna Jayasekera WWV RSP VSV USP ndc psc, The motive to organized such a mega event was to give the confidence and instill a sense of normalcy and harmony after the tense situation that prevailed in the country.
Under the advice of the Commander of the Army Major General Mahesh Senanayake RWP RSPVSV USACGSC, Commander 24 Division Major General Mahinda Mudalige RWP RSP ndu personally gave the leadership in organizing all arrangements with the support of community in Ampara area.
The grand musical night was made colorful by a popular leading musical band in Sri Lanka “Seeduwa Sakura” under the specialist compeering by renowned Nadeeka Karunanayake & Surangi Kodithuwakku duo added glamour to make it more elegant. Extremely popular artists Mr. Saman De Silava, Mr. Chalaka Chamupathi Perera, Mr. Nuwan Gunawardena, Mr. M G Danushka, Mrs. Nirudu Amashakya, Mrs. Damitha Abeyrathne and Mrs. Shanika Weerasinghe entertained the crowd to reach much amusement.
A massive crowd representing all community from Ampara, Uhana, Inginiyagala, Hingurana, Samanthurai and suburbs enthusiastically gathered at the H M Weerasinghe public ground for the first time in history to enjoy until wee hours of next morning without any misbehavior of young music lovers.
The Chief Guest of the Musical Night was Major General ArunaJyasekara WWV RSP VSV USP ndc psc the Commander Security Forces (East), while General Officers Commanding of 22 Divisions and many more Senior Officers from under command formations and sister services were present at the occasion.
