Major General Champika Ranasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division visited Periyakallar Divisional Hospital which has been converted into 3rd COVID Treatment Centre in Batticaloa District. Commander 231 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Pradeep Gamage, Provincial Director of Health Services and Regional Director of Health Services Batticaloa also joined with the GOC.
This Periyakallar COVID Treatment Centre will be ready to cater positive Covid patients from 26 December 2020 onwards with the capacity of 200 beds.
