During a brief ceremony organized on Tuesday (25), Major S R Kodithuwakku SLNG, the Commanding Officer of 16 SLNG laid the foundation stone for construction of one more new house for a needy family in Mahaoya, Ampara.
After the living condition of the beneficiaries, Mr. Hettiarachchige Gamini and his family was brought to the notice of the SFHQ (E) & 24 Division, Mr. Nishantha Laksiri of DSL Cargo International Private Ltd, Colombo came forward to bear the financial costs of raw materials worth of Rs. 750,000.00. Under the guidance of Major General Channa Weerasuriya, the Commander, Security Forces (East) & GOC, 24 Division, the troops of 16 Sri Lanka National Guard will provide much-needed manpower and technical expertise for construction work with the supervision of the Commander 241 Brigade.
Senior Officers and troops associated with the construction and family members of the beneficiary were present at the corner-stone-laying ceremony.
