The foundation stone laying ceremony of the proposed house to be constructed for the low-income family of Mr P D Wasantha in Nikapitiya, Bakamuna in Polonnaruwa district took place on 10 January 2022 under the instructions of the Commander Security Force (East), Major General Lal Chandrasiri and the programme was coordinated by the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division Major General Nalin Koswatta and the Commander 233 Infantry Brigade Colonel Wasantha Hewage.
The proposed house is to be constructed with the labour support of 7th Light Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery with the financial sponsorship of Mr Nihal Udugama Suriyage living in Australia. Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs Security Force Headquarters (East) - Colonel Ushan Gunawardhana, Commanding Officer of 7 SLA - Lieutenant Colonel Chandana Harischandra, Officers and Other Ranks attended this occasion.
