FMA-EAST CONDUCTED SERIES OF PROGRAMMES FOR THE CHILDREN'S DAY

Simultaneous to World Children's day Forward Maintains Area- East Organized the series of programme by the under-command battalion with the direction of Major General MWTC Mettananda USP ndc, Commander FMA East. For the programmes the primary conceptual guidance given by the Major General MKUP Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, the Commander, Security Forces - East.

The programmes were conducted on 01 to 04 October 2023 by the 4 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, 3 Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, 5 Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps, 3 Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, 2 Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police and, 3 (V) Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock.

The programme done by the 4 SLASC was to clean the ground of Hingurakgoda Bosat Children's Home. 3 SLAOC cleaned Rotawewa Weeramuthu Pre-school and provided lunch for 25 children of the Pre-school. Provided a snack and tea for the children who come to the children's garden - Girithale located near the camp of 2 SLCMP and also cleaned the Galkanda Pre-school by 3 (V) SLACAL. Moreover, renovated the Maharatmale Ratmal Pre-School and, Minneriya Children's Happy Garden by 3 SLEME. 5 SLAMC held a lecture on personal and oral health and conducted a medical clinic by providing a meal for the 71 students of Timbirigasaya Junior High School.

Commanding Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the Battalions contributed their maximum effort to the programmes and participation in the success of the events. Teachers of the schools, Pre-schools, and parents of the children's also present at the programmes.
