EASTERN TROOPS WITH SPONSOR SUPPORT PUT UP NEW HOUSE FOR NEEDY FAMILY

The Security Force Headquarters (East) troops adding their share to the Army’s ongoing house construction for underprivileged families in respective areas erected new house for needy family in Kalladi, Mawadichenei area on 21 June 2023 with sponsorship provided by Mr Roshan Rajappa resided in USA, through the coordination of Chief of Defence Staff General Shavendra Silva. The eastern Commander, Major General Darshana Wijesekera gave guidance for the project and close supervision by the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Major General Mihidu Perera and Commander, 222 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Saliya Dias for the project.

The Overlooking Commanding Officer of 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major Roshan Arawwala took the initiative using their technical skills and manpower for the construction work. During the warming ceremony, Mrs Sivakumar Ramachiththa received the key from the Chief Guest, General Officer Commanding of the 22 Infantry Division.

The beneficiary was donated household appliances worth of 12 lakhs and furniture worth of Rs: 50,000.00 by the Directorate of Welfare, worth of Rs: 48,000.00 by Mr.Roshan Rajappa, worth of Rs: 30,800.00 by the Seruwila Mangala Rajamaha Viharaya and the business community with the coordination of 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

Furthermore, Commander, 222 Infantry Brigade, Civil Affairs Officer of the 222 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers of 22 Infantry Division, Officers and Other Ranks of the Battalion and several others who assisted to build the house were present.
