In order to start the second stage of the restoration project of the ‘Deegawapiya’ Dagaba in Ampara, held a Pirith chanting programme on Sunday (09 July) evening at the Deegawapiya temple premises. The Eastern Commander, Major General Darshana Wijesekera participated in the occasion as the chief guest of this liturgy programme held the ancient sacred ground.
General Officer Commanding of the 22, 23, and 24 Infantry Divisions, Senior Officers, Officers, and other ranks were present at the event with the Eastern Commander to success this programme. Moreover, "Maha Sanga", devotional people of the Ampara area gathered for this liturgy event at the sacred ground of Deegawapiya temple.
