EAST TROOPS ORGANIZE A DRY RATION DONATION PROGRAMME

Under the guidelines and supervisions of the Commander, Security Forces – East, Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the troops of the Security Force Headquarters – East, and the 7 Battalion Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment organized a Dry Ration donation programme at the “Divisional Secretariat” Office at “Medirigiriya” on Saturday (19).

Accordingly, 200 dry ration packs worth of Rs: 4000/= each were distributed among the families with an inadequate income Village of Medirigiriya, under the patronage of Mr. Kushil Gunasekara, the owner of “ Guna Jaya Sathuta Foundation”.

Furthermore, Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi Commander, Security Forces – East, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Major General Shewanth Kulathunga, the General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, Brigadier Wasantha Hewage, Brigade Commander, 233 Infantry Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Prabhath Halpage, Civil Affairs Officer, Security Force - East, Lieutenant Colonel Saman Hetiarachchi, Civil Affairs Officer, 23 Infantry Division, Lieutenant Colonel Chandana Harishchandra, Commanding Officer, 7 Battalion Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and Grama Niladhari of Administration in the Divisional Secretariat, enthusiastically contributed to the events.
