Under the guidance of Commander Security Forces (East) Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, and the close supervision of the 23 Infantry Division, the 12 Battalion of The Gamunu Watch, deployed under the 231 Infantry Brigade, successfully conducted a Dry Ration Pack Distribution Program for 80 low-income families in the Polonnaruwa and Dimbulagala areas on 08 September 2025 at Manampitiya Mahaweli Prathiba Auditoriun.
This comprehensive and impactful community outreach initiative was led by the Commanding Officer of the 12 Battalion, The Gamunu Watch, Major ACW Gunasekara RSP, along with the dedicated support of his subordinate officers and troops.
The program aimed to strengthen civil-military relations and uplift the living standards of low-income families in the region. The event was generously sponsored by Major General Kumudu Perera (Retd) and Mrs. Shiromi Masakorala, along with Hemas Pvt Ltd, demonstrating their continued commitment to social welfare and community development.
The event was graced by Brigadier SDKWMMI Weliwita RWP RSP USP psc, Commander of the 231 Infantry Brigade, attended as the Chief Guest. Also in attendance was Mrs. Anushka Jayarathna, the Deputy Residential Project Manager of the Mahaweli Authority, along with several other distinguished invitees.
