Batticaloa District Coordinating Committee for prevention of COVID - 19 pandemic presided by the GA Batticaloa Mr. K Karunaharan, assembled at the District Secretariat Batticaloa on 28 May 2021. Major General Nalin Koswatte the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division, Director of Teaching Hospital Batticaloa and Commanding Officer 4 GW also attended the said event.
Meanwhile, responding to a request made by Teaching Hospital Batticaloa, the GOC 23 Division led a donation programme to handover several medical equipment for smooth functioning of Covid-19 prevention mechanism.
Benefactors and medical equipment are; Mini Centrifuge - donated by Mrs. S Srikanth (Addl.GA), High Speed Microliter Centrifuge - donated by Mr. Nallaretnam, RT PCR Equipment and Viral Nucleic Acid Extractor - donated by Alaska Foundation Multi Religious Forum, 70” C Freezer - donated by Mr. Billal (Muslim Federation), Autoclave - donated by Mr. Selvarajah and businessmen and H2O2 Fumigator - donated by Mr. Easwaran.
