DONATION OF DRY RATIONS BY THE EASTERN WOMEN’S FEDERATION BATTICALOA DISTRICT AND COMMERCIAL BANK - BATTICALOA FOR FLOOD-AFFECTED FAMILIES IN MUTUR WITH ASSISTANCE OF AREA 243 INFANTRY BRIGADE

The Eastern Women’s Federation of the Batticaloa District and Commercial Bank - Batticaloa, generously donated dry ration bags valued at approximately Rs. 200,000.00 to among families in the Mutur area who were affected by the recent flooding with assistance of the 243 Infantry Brigade for distribution . The programme was conducted under the special direction of the General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division Maj Gen KW Jayaweera USP psc with the support of the Commander, 243 Infantry Brigade Brigadier KMUP Kalupahana USP psc.

The event took place at 1600 hrs on 10 December 2025 with the 02 × 05 troops from the 243 Infantry Brigade. The Eastern Women’s Federation of the Batticaloa District and Commercial Bank – Batticaloa, together with the dedicated support of the 243 Infantry Brigade, played a vital role in addressing the urgent needs of flood-affected communities in Mutur area, strengthening civil military cooperation and delivering timely humanitarian assistance.
