DISTRIBUTION OF DRY RATIONS AND STATIONERIES

Sacks of Dry rations and Stationeries distribution programmes for two thousand low-income families were held in Ampara under the kind patronage of Chief Incumbent of Na-Uyana Aranya Senasana Ven. Agulugamuwe Ariyananda thero and the committee members of Na-Uyana Buddhist association on 20 August 2022.

The events were organized under the direction of the General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division - Major General SB Amunugama RWP RSP ndu and the programmes were organized by the 241 and 242 Infantry Brigades of 24 Infantry Division.

The Commander Security Forces (East), Major General GRRP Jayawardena RWP RSP ndu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the main event held at Deegawapiya Temple premises. Meanwhile, another three programmes were conducted at the Deegawapiya Sinhala School, Deegawapiya Pariwara Chaiththiya premises and Lahugala District Secretariat Conference Hall, simultaneously.

Accordingly, 1600 Sacks of dry ration were distributed among Sinhala, Tamil, and Muslim beneficiaries including 1400 families and 200 pregnant mothers. Furthermore, sacks of stationeries were distributed among 400 identified school children. These beneficiaries were selected from the low-income families of Deegawapiya and Neelagiriya areas. Each sack of dry ration and stationeries were worth more than Rs: 5000.00 and the total value of the donation exceeded ten million Rupees.
