DINNERS’ CLUB PROGRAMME OF 23 INFANTRY DIVISION CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY

With the patronage of Major General Janaka Pallekumbura, RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces (East) and guidance of Major General Priyanga Kulathilake ndc, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, the Division continues to conduct the Dinners’ Club Programme as a key pillar of its officers’ professional development initiatives. This programme is designed to enhance strategic awareness, critical thinking, and operational understanding among officers, with particular focus on those preparing for promotion examinations and the Entrance Examination.

The Dinners’ Club Programme of Headquarters, 23 Infantry Division, was successfully held on 14 November 2025 with the participation of 73 senior officers and officers representing the Security Force East Theatre. Attendees included officers from Headquarters Security Force (East), 22 Infantry Division, 23 Infantry Division, 24 Infantry Division, and Logistic Command (East).

Major General ManjulaKarunaratne (Retd), IG, attended as the guest resource person and delivered a comprehensive and thought-provoking lecture on “Current World Conflicts: Lessons for Professional Military Officers.” His presentation offered an in-depth analysis of contemporary geostrategic developments and their military implications, providing valuable professional insights to the participants. An interactive discussion that followed allowed officers to engage actively, exchange perspectives, and clarify subject-related issues, contributing to a highly constructive learning environment.

Major General Janaka Pallekumbura, RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces (East), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, underscoring the continued emphasis placed by the Security Force Headquarters (East) on professional military education and strategic capacity building.

The 23 Infantry Division remains committed to fostering intellectual growth and professional excellence among its officer cadre through well-structured programmes such as the Dinners’ Club.
