DIALOGUE WITH COMMUINY LEADERS AND INTELLCTUATLS IN THE EASTERN PROVINCE
Dr Vinya Ariyarathne, Hon. General Secretary, Shramadana Movement Sarvodaya organized a meeting on 28 December 2016 at Sarvodaya Development Education Institute and Farm at Sthurukondan – Batticaloa based on a request made by the Comd SF (E). The meeting brought together the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General DDUK Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc and the intellectuals of Eastern Province including Senior Government Officers, lecturers, Religious Dignitaries, Social Services Representatives and Community Leaders.\r\n\r\n The meeting was a significant concept of having a constant discussions on matters pertaining to development, health, education, environment and other aspects. The objective of the meeting was to ensure the involvement of intellectuals to enhance the well-being of the people as well as the communal and religious harmony in the Eastern Province.\r\n\r\n The keynote address of this meeting was delivered by Comd SF (E) who stressed the requirement of looking after the basic human needs of the people in the existing peace situation of the country. During the concluding remarks, the Comd SF (East) brought out solutions to several issues came up during discussions while promising to take up the other difficulties with the relevant administrative authorities.\r\nMaj Gen HWSDB Pananwala RSP ndu,GOC 23 Divisison, Brig LM Mudalige RWP RSP,GOC 24 Division and Brig NDSP Niwunhella RWP RSP,Comd 231 Brigade also attended the event. \r\n
