DGGS OFFICIALLY VISITS THE SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS - EAST

Major General Nishantha Manage, Director General General Staff (DGGS), made an official visit to Security Force Headquarters - East on Thursday (April 27). The General of two stars was warmly welcomed by Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander, Security Forces - East to the Security Force Headquarters - East.

The DGGS first arrived at the Headquarters of the Security Forces - East and attended to the formalities. After, he participated in the conference held in the conference hall of Security Force Headquarters - East. During the conference discussed important matters related to General Staff Branch, and sought out the problems in under command formations to Security Force Headquarters - East area. The conference culminated with a presenting of mementos, to the DGGS by the hand of Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander, Security Forces -East. Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander, Security Forces -East, General Officer Commanding of 22 and 24 Infantry Divisions, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Staff Officers of General Staff Branches of Security Forces - East area, joined the discussion with the DGGS.

There after DGGS visited to the Regional Ordnance Stores Complex - Punani and Colonel Sampath Bulathgama, the Commandant, warmly welcomed the DGGS and take the tour of the complex after his short briefing. In addition DGGS visited to 23 Infantry Division and Battalion Training School and at that moment Major Genaral Shwanth Kulathunga, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division warmly welcomed the DGGS to the division. To symbolize the visit the DGGS, planted a sapling and made complimentary notes and good wishes in the Visitors' Book as customary. Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander, Security Forces -East, Brigadier Eranda Rathnayake, Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters - East and Staff officers of Army Headquarters General Staff branch participated along side with the visit of DGGS.
