DENGUE PREVENTION CAMPAIGN

24 Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard conducted a Dengue Prevention Campaign in Muthur with the assistance of Medical Officers of the area and the Muthur Pradeshiya Sabha on 23 June 2018.

50 Army Personnel“ 25 Policemen and 25 Public Health Officers participated in the programme which was closely monitored by Major MACP Marasinghe, the Commanding Officer 24 SLNG. It was organized under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Aruna Jayasekara.

The troops and medical teams educated the community how effectively dengue can be eliminated by maintaining a hygienic atmosphere at work places and as well as at residences.

The inauguration of the programme took place around 0800 a.m. in the presence of Commander 224 Brigade Col EAP Ediriweera“ Civil Affairs Officer 224 Brigade Lt Col GGN Samarasingha “ OIC Muthur Police Station“ MOH Muthur Dr Jesmy and Muthur Pradeshiya Sabha representatives.
