COORDINATING CONFERENCE ON FOREST AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL CONSERVATION

Coordinating conference of steering committee on Forest and Archaeological conservation in Trincomalee was held at 22 Infantry Division Headquarters on 07 April 2021 presided by the GOC - 22 Infantry Division Major General M K S Silva RWP RSP ndu and with the participation of Provincial Land Commissioner, Commander 221 Infantry Brigade, Commander 223 Infantry Brigade, SSP - TCO, SSP - Kanthale, District Forest Officer - TCO, Assistant Director of Wildlife - TCO Region, Assistant Director of Archaeology - TCO, Land Officer - GA Office TCO and Staff Officers of 22 Infantry Division.

During the conference, GOC - 22 Infantry Division had a lengthy discussion regarding the recent development of illegal Sand Mining, Deforestation, Land Encroachment, Treasure Hunting, security of Archaeological Sites and the monitoring system for unauthorized entry to conserved areas.
