The 8th Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard, in conjunction with the 18th Battalion Anniversary Day, conducted a program to provide nutritious midday meals to 12 children from the Thirukkovil Methodist Church Children's Home on 18th August 2025.
The initiative, conducted under the direction of the General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division Maj Gen HCL Galappathti RSP USP, and Brigade Commander 242 Infantry Brigade Brig KGAT Kalakorale RSP with the close supervision of Commanding Officer 8 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard Maj KD Liyanage.
