THE COMMANDER SF EAST VISITS FMA (E)

Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Commander Security Forces (East) made a visit to the Headquarters of Forward Maintenance Area (East) on 22 September 2021.

The Comd SF (E) first arrived at the Headquarters 3 Battalion of Engineer Service Regiment where he was extended a warm welcome by the Commanding Officer, Major Kosala Hettiarachchi and was accorded with a Drive Pass in accordance with military formalities.

Subsequently, with the warm reception by the Commander FMA (E) Major General Mahesh Abeyrathna, the Comd SF(E) addressed the troops gathered to the teaching building of ITC Minneriya focusing on the importance of training in different professional aspects of the career and maintenance of the highest standards of discipline. The Commander further requested all the Officers and Other Ranks to refrain from irregularities, malfunctions and wrong practices to ensure the reputation of the Army is uplifted.

Later, the newly constructed Badminton Court of 3 Battalion of Engineer Service Regiment was vested in the troops during a simple ceremony.

Later, Comd SF (E) paid anobservation visit to the 4 GT Squadron Minneriya and planted a sapling in memory of his visit. Finally, the visiting Commander SF(E) arrived at the Headquarters, 4 Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Service Corps and attended the formalities after being welcomed by the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Ruwan Piluppuarachchi.

BAQ SFHQ(E) Brigadier JagathWeerakoon also accompanied the Commander during the visit.
