Major General Santhusitha Pananwala, the Commander Security Forces - East visited the Headquarters 22 Division - Trincomalee on Saturday (17) before his relinquishment of office as the Commander SF - East. On the arrival of the outgoing Commander, he was warmly welcomed by Major General Aruna Jayasekara, General Officer Commanding 22 Division. The visiting Commander Security Force (East) was accorded with a Guard Turnout at the entrance by the troops of 6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
The Commander SF (E), addressing the troops emphasized his vision in achieving the objectives through the path of "Commitment through Motivation". Thereby, the Commander requested the troops to pay their special attention to perform the assigned duties with dedication and improving their professionalism as soldiers to meet any challenge, any threat at any situation. At the end of the visit, Comd SF (E) signed the visitors' book as an aide memoire and a plaque was presented to him by the GOC. Subsequently, he participated for an all ranks tea and concluded the proceedings leaving a complementary remark on the visitors’ book. Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and all Staff Officers of 23 Infantry Division attended for this occasion.
Subsequently, the Commander Security Forces (East) visited the Headquarters FMA (East) - Minneriya concluding the proceedings of his farewell visits. Upon receiving a warm welcome by the Commander FMA (East) Major General Manoj Mudannayaka, the visiting Commander planted a sapling in memory of his last official visit to the premises. Afterwards, the Commander attended for an all rank tea at the Headquarters 3CES and addressed the troops highlighting the values of discipline and insisted the soldiers to give priority for training to face the challenges of the Army in future.
