Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Commander Security Force - East on Tuesday (29) visited the 231 and 232 Infantry Brigades under command to 23 Infantry Division.
Commander, Security Force (East) first arrived at the Headquarters 232 Infantry Brigade, Thoppigala where the visiting Commander was accorded a ‘Drive Pass’ salute around the main entrance. During the visit, the Commander had an opportunity to discuss matters pertaining to administration aspects, operational needs, welfare measures and requirements of the troops.
Addressing the troops of 232 Infantry Brigade and 12 SLNG Battalion, the Commander SF-E encouraged the troops to continue to offer their service while maintaining the highest standards of discipline at all levels.
Further, the Commander SF-E educated the troops highlighting important aspects of administration aspects, operational matters, welfare measures and uplifting the living standards of the Officers and Other Ranks.
Moreover, the Commander urged them to stick to the health guidelines in the present pandemic situation in the country and advised to be courteous when travelling due to the rapid increase of vehicle accidents reported at present.
The Commander SF-E afterwards, visited the Headquarters 231 Infantry Brigade, Batticaloa and attended the formalities after being received by Brigade Commander, Brigadier Vijitha Hettiarachchi. During the troops address, the Commander SF-E enlightened the troops of 231 Infantry Brigade, 4 GW and 11 (V) SLSR Battalions on the aforesaid aspects.
Major General Nalin Koswatte, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division and Commanding Officers also accompanied the Commander SF-E during the visit.
