The commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi on 05th and 06th in new Year (January 2023), paid his maiden formal field visits to the 22 Infantry Division its under command Infantry Brigades and units with a view to familiarizing with their role and tasks and visiting started on Friday (05).
The Visiting Commander first arrived at the Headquarters 223 Infantry Brigade at Kattaprichchan and warmly welcomed by Colonel Prabhath Rangajewa, the Commander of 223 Infantry Brigade on arrival. A Guard Turnout at the main entrance of the Brigade Headquarters in keeping with military traditions saluted him. A comprehensive briefing on its role and tasks with focus on their area of responsibilities educated the visiting Security Forces Commander.
Furthermore, he addressed the troops and emphasized on continuing professional training and continuation of the good work while maintaining the highest standards of discipline at all levels, the address followed the planting of saplings as symbols of memory of his visits. He also did not forget to sit for group photographs in 223 Bde Headquarters. Thereafter, the Commander, Security Forces (East) visited to Galkanda Temple, Governess Office and Rangiri Ulpatha Rajamaha Viharaya, In the Afternoon Conducted a field visit in the 06th Sri Lanka Armoured Corps at Morawewa and 15th Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment at Thissapura, Commander SF-(E) on arrives at the entrance of the respective units attended to the formalities there and a comprehensive briefing also submitted by Commanding Officers of under command Unit respectively. Also he addressed the troops and made notes his thoughts and good wishes in the visitors' book before he left From 223 Inf Bde Headquarters and Under Command Units
On 06 January 2023 day morning, Commander, Security Forces - East visit 221 Infantry Brigade at Fort Fedrick- Trincomalee and warmly welcomed by Colonel Sujeewa Rathnayake , Commander of the 221 Infantry Brigade on arrival, Commander, SF-(E) Attended to the Formalities there . After the comprehensive briefing on their area of responsibilities by Commander of the 221 Inf Bde, Commander, SF-(E) was Invited to join an all rank tea after that He departure to the Headquarters 222 Infantry Brigade at Jayanthigama - Kanthale, Visiting Commander SF-(E), on his arrival to Brigade Headquarters accorded a Drive Pass at the entrance by the troops of HQ 222 Inf Bdeand warmly welcomed by Brigadier Nalaka Malsinghe , Commander of the 222 Infantry Brigade, before visiting the Camp premises he was educated by a brief presentation about the its responsibility of 222 Inf Bde after made notes his thoughts in the visitors’ book then he departure visiting for 5(volunteer) Sri Lanka Artillery at Kanthale. On his arrival, he was warmly received by the Commanding officer of 5(V) SLA and conducted a comprehensive briefing on security and administration matters of the battalion Aria of Responsible, then the Commander, Security Forces – East Planting of Sapling and made the camp visit, afterward he stood for lunch with all senior officers and Officers in the officer’s mess. Towards the end of the Visit he made a complimentary note and good wishes in the Visitors' Book before departure from the 5(V) SLA.
