Following a concept of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, coordinators of Ranaviru Organizations of Polonnaruwa, Batticaloa, Ampara and Trincomalee Districts, including responsible Civil Affairs Officers in respective areas had a discussion with the Commander Security Force (East) Major General Channa Weerasuriya on Sunday (07) at the Security Force Headquarters (East) Welikanda.
The Commander Security Force (East) highlighted the Army's responsibility of ensuring the well-being of retired Army personnel as well as family members of injured and fallen War Heroes and the importance of promoting welfare prospects of the retirees and maintaining the respected social recognition of Ranaviru Veterans and contribute to the betterment of the national economy and the Army.
Further, Major General Channa Weerasuriya delegated the responsibility to GOCs of 22, 23, 24 Divisions and Commander FMA(East) to supervise the well-being and the progress of respective Ranaviru Organizations.
