The Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Rasika Fernando paid a field visit to Rehabilitation Centres of Kandakadu and Senapura on 18 of November 2019. The SF Comd's meeting with the inmates at the rehabilitation centres had mutual discussions with them and inquired into the programmes being conducted for the rehabilitation of youth inmates.
The SF Comd attentively listened to few of the inmates relating their grievances and how they became delinquents and instructed the Directors of the rehabilitation centers and other officials on the importance of spiritual development of the inmates to make them better citizens.The SF Comd looked into the existing facilities of the inmates and instructed the officials to increase the facilities.
Further, the SF Comd had courtesy calls with Ven. Millane Siriyalankara Thero, the Chief Incumbent of Dimbulagala Aranya Senasanaya and District Secretary (DS) Polonnaruwa Mr. Panduka Abewardhana at the District Secretariat Polonnaruwa on 20 Wednesday. The SF Comd exchanged views with the dignitaries on matters of national and religious importance pertaining to Eastern Province.
During the interaction with the DS Polonnaruwa, the SF Comd highlighted the need to have an effective communication and a close coordination among government authorities and Security Forces.
