Major General Ravindra Pathiravithana, the newly appointed Commander of Security Force East, paid his first official visit to the Headquarters 23 Infantry Division at Punani on Saturday (1 February 2025).
Major General Priyantha Kariyawasam, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division warmly welcomed the Commander, Security Forces - East after he was saluted in a colourful Guard Turnout at the entrance, presented by troops of the 12th Sri Lanka National Guard.
vAfterwards, he planted a mango sapling before he posed for a group photograph with the Divisional staff and Commanders of under command Brigades and units 23 Infantry Division. Further, he addressed the 23 Infantry Division troops and interacted with the troops during an All-Rank tea. Later, he received a briefing on the role and tasks of the Division and its responsibilities from the General Officer Commanding. Before he departed from the Division Headquarters, the Commander left a couple of thoughts and compliments in the 23 Infantry Division visitors’ book.
