Commander Security Forces (East), Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, paid his first official visit to the 231 Infantry Brigade on 31 July 2025.
Upon his arrival, the Commander was warmly received by the Commander of the 231 Infantry Brigade and was accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance in keeping with military traditions. As part of the welcome ceremony, he planted a tree at the brigade headquarters premises, symbolizing growth and sustainability.
During the visit, Major General Pallekumbura posed for a group photograph with officers from the under-command battalions and engaged in friendly interaction with the troops.
The proceedings included a detailed briefing session conducted by the Brigade Commander, covering operational, administrative, and welfare matters relevant to the brigade’s current engagements.
Before his departure, Major General Pallekumbura signed the visitor's book, recording his appreciation for the professionalism, commitment, and high standards maintained by the personnel of the 231 Infantry Brigade.
The visit concluded with a tea party, providing an opportunity for informal interaction and camaraderie among the officers and guests.
