The Commander Security Forces (East),Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, upon recently assuming office, made his maiden visit to the Headquarters of the 22 Infantry Division in Trincomalee on 03rd and 04th July 2025.
The General Officer Commanding, Major General H.D.L.S. Lalith Perera RWP RSP ndc, along with all officers, warmly welcomed Major General Janaka Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc upon his arrival. In accordance with military traditions, he was honored with a guard turnout and posed for a group photograph.
To commemorate the visit, the Commander Security Forces (East) was invited to plant a sapling on the premises, followed by an address to the troops. The GOC, Brigade Commanders, and Staff Officers provided the Commander with a comprehensive briefing on the 22 Infantry Division's Area of Responsibility (AOR).
During the visit, the Commander also met with Governor Professor Jayantha Lal Rathnasekara and held a meeting with Bishop Christian Noel Emmanuel.
In addition, the Commander took part in religious observances at Seruwavila Mangala Rajamaha Viharaya and Koneshwaram Kovil.
Senior officers, along with the Commander, attended the handing-over ceremony of a newly constructed house to a low-income family in Sirimangalapura.
The visit concluded with the Commander penning his thoughts and remarks in the Visitors’ Book.
