The Commander Security Forces (East), Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, upon recently assuming office, made his maiden visit to the Headquarters of the 24 Infantry Division in Ampara on 01 July 2025.
The General Officer Commanding, Major General H.C.L. Galappathti RSP USP, along with all officers, warmly welcomed Major General Janaka Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc upon his arrival. In accordance with military traditions, he was honored with a guard turnout and posed for a group photograph.
Adding memories to the day, the Commander Security Forces (East) was invited to plant a sapling on the premises, followed by a troop address. The GOC, Brigade Commanders, and Staff Officers provided the Commander with a comprehensive briefing on the 24 Infantry Division Area of Responsibility (AOR).
During his visit, the Commander observed the progress of the Deegawapiya Restoration Project, which is being carried out under the supervision of the 24 Infantry Division.
He also visited tactically important locations in the area, including Arugambay, Kalkuda, the 241 Infantry Brigade, and the 242 Infantry Brigade.
