COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST) CONDUCTS HIS MAIDEN FIELD VISIT TO 23 INFANTRY DIVISION

Major General S A Kulathunge RWP RSP VSP USP psc, the Commander Security Forces (East), conducted his maiden official visit after assuming duties to the Headquarters 23 Infantry Division on 27 April 2024.

On his arrival to the Headquarters, the Commander Security Forces (East) was warmly welcomed by Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division. A Guard turnout was accorded at the main entrance to the Commander Security Forces (East), in accordance with military traditions.

After the introduction of the staff officers of the Division headquarters, the new East Commander planted a "Mango" sapling and participated in a group photograph to mark his maiden visit to the 23 Infantry Division Headquarters.

Thereafter, Major General S A Kulathunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc addressed all ranks of the 23 Division. He emphasized that discipline, effectiveness, and dedication are the main pillars of success and expected everyone to work as “One Team” when entrusted a task to perform. The all ranks tea that followed, gave an opportunity for the new Commander Security Forces (East) to interact with subordinates.

This was followed by a comprehensive briefing conducted by the General Officer Commanding and his staff on the role & tasks and operational readiness of 23 Infantry Division and under command Brigades and Battalions. Subsequently, the Commander, Security Forces (East) had a discussion on security and administrative issues related to the Division.

Before concluding the day’s itinerary, the Commander Security Forces (East) shared his valuable thoughts by penning a few words in the Visitors’ Book.

The Brigade Commanders, senior staff officers of the Security Forces Headquarters (East), commanding officers, officers & other ranks were present at the occasion.
