COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (EAST) PAYS OBSERVATION VISIT TO 4 GW

The Commander Security Force (East), Major General Lal Chandrasiri, upon his assumption of office recently, made an observation visit to the 4th Battalion, the Gemunu Watch, Unnachchiya on Monday (27).

Commander Security Force (East) first arrived at the A Coy, B Coy, D Coy and C Coy of 4GW, Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya, Siththandi, Iluppadichenei and Thumpalancholei respectively and inspected the administrative aspects as well as welfare facilities of the troops.

Meanwhile, the Commander Security Force (East) inspected the 50 acre land in Punnakudha area which was vested with the Army for future constructions.

On arrival at Headquarters 4 GW premises, Commander Security Force (East) was received by the Commanding Officer of 4 GW after the visiting Commander was greeted to a Drive Pass salute around the main entrance. Thereafter, the visiting Commander paid a floral tribute the war heroes’ monument of the 4th Battalion, the Gemunu Watch to convey his deep reverence to the fallen War Heroes of the battalion, who made the supreme sacrifice in liberating our motherland from the clutches of terrorism.

Later, as a symbol of memory, the Commander Security Force (East) was invited to plant a sapling in front of the Guard Room.

Subsequently, the Commander Security Force (East) took time off to mingle with the troops during the camp visit and inquired into their needs and other welfare measures and left a complementary remark on the visitors' book before the departure.
