COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (EAST) PAYS HIS MAIDEN FIELD VISIT

The Commander Security Force (East), Major General Lal Chandrasiri, upon his assumption of office recently, made his maiden visit to the Headquarters 233 Infantry Brigade Vakarai and 6th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, Navalladi on Tuesday (21).

Commander Security Force (East) first arrived at the A Coy of 6th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, Kathiraveli and inspected the administrative aspects as well as welfare facilities of the troops.

On arrival at Headquarter 233 Infantry Brigade premises, Commander Security Force (East) was received by General Officer Commanding (GOC) 23 Infantry Division, Major General Nalin Koswatte and the Commander 233 Infantry Brigade Colonel Wasantha Hewage after the visiting Commander was greeted to a Drive Pass salute around the main entrance. As a symbol of memory, the Commander Security Force (East) was then invited to plant a sapling in front of the Brigade Headquarters office and posed for a group photograph.

Subsequently, the Commander Security Force (East) took time off to mingle with the troops during the camp visit and inquired into their needs and other welfare measures and left a complementary remark on the visitors' book before the departure.

In the afternoon, the Commander Security Force (East) visited the Headquarters 6th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, Navalladi and attended the formalities there too. The officers and soldiers met him and had an opportunity to discuss matters pertaining to administration aspects, operational needs, welfare measures and requirements of the troops during this field visit.
