The Commander Security Force (East), Major General Santhusitha Pananwala made his farewell visit to the 24 Division Headquarters on 16 Friday November 18. The outgoing Commander Security Force (East) was welcomed by Major General Mahinda Mudalige, General Officer Commanding 24 Division, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and other Staff Officers at 24 Division.
The visiting Commander Security Force (East) was accorded with a Guard of Honour and Guard Turnout at the entrance by the troops of 3 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and followed the planting of a sapling and troops address.
During the speech, the Commander highlighted the values of discipline and insisted the soldiers to give priority for training to face the challenges of the Army in future. Moreover, he repeatedly emphasized the great negotiation and security measures which were taken by the General Officer Commanding together with his under command troops to ensure the public harmony in the Ampara District. At the end of the speech as a symbol of appreciation, a special memento was presented to the Commander Security Force (East) by the General Officer Commanding of 24 Division.
He also visited the Blood Donation Campaign which was organised by the 24 Division in parallel to their 5thAnniversary and expressed his warm wishes and regards to all officers for their contribution and commitment making 24 Division in such heights. He noted his thoughts on the Visitors Book and departed through the street saluted by the troops 24 Division at Malwatte.
