The Commander of the Forward Maintenance Area (East) held a significant conference with the leadership of the 24th Infantry Division to address and strategize over logistic matters on 5 October 2023. This conference marked a pivotal moment in ensuring the operational efficiency and readiness of under-command Brigades and Battalions of 24 Infantry Division
The General Officer Commanding, Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc and all Officers warmly welcomed Major General MWTC Mettananda USP ndc on his arrival. In accordance with military traditions, saluted him by Guard Turnout as a Drive Pass and welcomed him to the GOC’s office. Adding memories to the day, the Comd FMA (E) posed for a group photograph in HQ premises
The 24 Infantry Division is renowned for its storied history and exceptional performance in various operations. However, to maintain its high standards and remain prepared for any future missions, effective logistics management is paramount. This meeting with the FMA commander aimed to address precisely that. During the meeting, the FMA commander and the division leadership discussed a range of logistic matters, including supply chain optimization, equipment maintenance schedules, and resource allocation. This collaborative approach is essential to address the unique challenges the division faces, such as its diverse operational environments and rapid deployment requirements. All Brigade Commanders, COs and Logistic COs in the SF (E) participated for this meeting
